Expert Witness Testimony

Our forensic staff have testified as an expert in administrative hearings, including appeals for state services and release back into the community after commitment.

Expert witness testimony is when a forensic psychologist provides specialized knowledge and opinions to assist the court in understanding aspects of a case that are outside the typical knowledge of a judge or jury.

Our forensic staff have been qualified as experts in criminal, juvenile, educational, and family law proceedings.

Testifying About Mental Health Issues

Our experts are qualified to testify about a defendant’s mental health status, such as whether they were competent to stand trial, whether they had the mental capacity to commit a crime, or whether they were suffering from psychological disorders at the time of the offense.

Providing Opinions on Risk and Prognosis

We can provide expert opinions about an individual’s risk of reoffending, the likelihood of rehabilitation, or how psychological issues may have impacted behavior.

Explaining Psychological Assessments and Findings

We can also explain the results of psychological tests or evaluations (e.g., competency evaluations, psychopathy assessments, mental health diagnoses) that have been conducted as part of the case.
